I am Captain Drew A. Hawkins.  I retired after 32 ½ years as an educator, and started my business as a second career to fuel my passion for fishing.  I have fished my entire life since my first fishing trips with my Dad when I was a just a little boy.  During my educational career, I was once an elementary school principal at Aloma Elementary, where our mascot was an eagle.  Being bald, I was nicknamed “Bald Eagle”, and decided upon that name for my business and my boat, a 17-foot Mitzi Skiff flats boat.

I run my charters on the intracoastal waterway in Palm Coast and launch from Bing’s Landing at 5862 N Ocean Shore Blvd, Palm Coast, FL 32137.  On the property are restroom facilities, a historic site, and a fantastic restaurant, Captain’s BBQ.

I provide all of the bait and tackle, as well as plenty of cold water that I store in the cooler on the boat.  Since my half-day charter trips run for four hours, suggested clothing and accessories would be sunglasses, a hat, plenty of sunscreen, comfortable clothing for the weather, and any snacks you would like to bring along.

You do not need a fishing license as I provide that for you with my licensing.  In addition to my captain’s license, I also hold Florida Friendly Fishing Guide certification, sponsored by Florida Wildlife Commission, Florida Sea Grant, and University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, focused on maintaining our fisheries for years to come.  See www.flseagrant.org/find-a-florida-friendly-fishing-guide/

In helping to maintain our fishery, my goal is to provide you with a memorable experience of catch-and-release fishing and/or sightseeing.  If your goal is to catch dinner, I’m not the captain for you and can refer you to another charter captain who can provide that experience for you. 

I can comfortably fit up to three people on my boat for a charter.  Whether there are one, two, or three people in your party, the total cost for the charter is the same price.  If you have more than three people in your party, I can refer you to another charter captain whose boat will hold more people than my boat can offer.  I fish with clients of all skill levels.  Some may be experienced fisherman, and some may be brand new to fishing.  I welcome all ages and skill levels and am more than happy to teach you fishing skills on our trip.
